Apple Spice Bread

Apple Spice Bread

The weather here has begun to feel to blissfully autumnal. There is a pleasant nip to the air and even now I can hear the wind rattling at my gate. It's the perfect evening to snuggle up under a cozy blanket, a good book, and a slice of something delicious. In tonight's case that would have to be the apple slice bread that I made a few days ago from a mix at Trader Joe's. I'm quite fond of both the resulting texture and flavor. It evokes the feelings of cozy autumn nights, crisp afternoons at the park, and going apple picking with the family and at the end enjoying a toasty mug of cider. I love that it's the season for these flavors and feelings once again.

Onto that announcement that I mentioned in my last post: I have a new contributing author joining me here at QC! My mother has been talking about starting a blog for a while, but wasn't sure if she would have enough content to keep one going on her own. Our tastes often coincide and she has always been such an inspiration to me that I offered her a home here and am excited to say that she accepted. She'll be popping in soon with a post about a charming gift back she recently put together so stay tuned!

That's so exciting that your mother is going to be joining you here! It must be so nice to be able to share this with each other; I'm looking forward to see what she has to say, too. :)

(By the way, this is Jess/portraitofshe from LJ! I'm finally using my blogger, too!)

  2. @ The Unicorn Girl
I'm so excited for her first post to go up /crosses fingers for later this weekend. We share so much so it felt really natural to share this too, I'm so glad to have some positive feedback about the decision ♥

I'm so excited to read your blog! I'm totally in love with the layout you chose as well, it's gorgeous.
