Photography

1. My Father's Camera, 2. cameras on credenza, 3. Kodak Brownie Starlet, 1957 - my first camera, 4. Dad's camera

Photography is a great love of mine. I love taking it and I love looking through the work of others. I remember my first camera. It was second grade and I had raised enough during a school fundraiser to qualify for a prize and as I was heading out for a month-long trip to Alaska that summer I chose the bright orange, brand-less camera. It was large in my small hands, a vibrant orange with black buttons and a lanyard wrist strap. I was awed to have it in my hands and even though the photos were always blurry I treasured each one of them. Those experiences sparked a lifelong love for me and even though that camera was sold at a long ago garage sale I will always remember those times. What were your first experiences with a camera?

Hmm... I should probably have breakfast soon (I have a quiche waiting for me in the freezer), but I'm still trying to get settled in a routine. I can't emphasize enough how thankful I am for music. Last year my computer couldn't handle iTunes. I don't know how I did this without it. Are you listening to anything this year to keep you going?
