Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I hope you've had a fun and safe holiday. Did you do anything fun? Highlights of the year for me definitely include the pumpkin carving contest (I went with Cinderella's carriage as inspired by this. This was my first time ever free-handing a design, so much fun), an awesome dance party with friends, and Fall Festival. I even had a semi-real costume this year! No more sketchy pirate! I did find out that my mom and I own a lot of 80's clothes/accessories in our everyday wardrobe. Not pictured, my black lace dress, cute tights, and leather boots. Next year I'm determined not to procrastinate. I would love to put together a Mary Poppins costume, but only if I take the time to do it right. The parrot umbrella sculpted out of clay, maybe? Decisions.

Happy Halloween! ♥ What are your plans for this evening? I'm having a pleasantly low-key holiday at home wearing my cute witch costume (the hat for which is photographed below) and munching on some sweets (mini-Reeses ♥). Even though I haven't done much for the holiday this year, I did manage to put a few decorations up:

Ribbon Card Display

Holiday cards have been pouring in from both friends and family and I was faced with the thought of how to display them. My room has very little free flat surfaces ( and what flat surfaces I do have looked cluttered with all of the cards ). On the other hand the wall that houses my bed has a large free space underneath my 'Make it Work' sign. Since my room is decorated in bright greens and pinks I use an nontraditional palette of hot pink and lime green for holiday decorating. A line of ribbon, a couple of thumbtacks, and enough paper clips to hold the cards and my card display was born. How do you display your cards during the holiday season?
